It all began with cranberries …
In the difficult times of the interwar years, Ignaz and Josef Unterweger began to export cranberries. Quickly they recognized the possibilities of the processing of fruit from the local and surrounding area.
In 1931 Ignaz and Josef Unterweger founded the brothers Unterweger refinement of fruits.
…the demand is increasing…
Continuous product development and the increasing demand for local jams necessitated the expansion of the business. Ignaz and Josef Unterweger set up a production plant in Kittsee in Burgenland in 1961 and have been using since then the locally available fresh fruit.
15 years after the construction of the production building in Kittsee, it was extended to process compotes and semi-finished products directly on site.
Next Generation
With the sons Paul and Christoph Unterweger the company brothers Unterweger started the second generation. The two cousins continuously expanded the two company locations in East Tyrol and Burgenland. Continuous optimization of product development and production makes it possible to meet the ever increasing demands of customers.
